Drangsnes
Drangsnes is a great small village. It is perched on the tip of the exposed headland that forms the northern end of the fjord and backed by hills and mountains. It faces the fjord and Grímsey Island, a considerable green-topped island, a little offshore, near the entrance to the fjord. There is a campsite near the community center, a shop post office and a guesthouse a little outside the town. The coast is indented with small coves and rocky promontories. There are good hiking trails around Drangsnes.
