Súðavík
The Westfjords are a whole world to themselves. They are rich in contrast, ranging from awesome, monumental mountains to gentle idylls. The Westfjords are an ideal place for hikers and all nature lovers, in summer and winter alike. The county of Súðavíkurhreppur is in this aspect a small-scale version of the Westfjords, where each and every fjord has its own distinctive character and every mountain is an individual work of nature´s art. Hikers and nature lovers can choose between various hiking paths, bird watching, going to explore the shore, seeing the seals or going fishing in some of the rivers or lakes. At Reykjanes we have a 30-room hotel offering hot pools and a swimming pool.
We who live in Súðavík have been busy building new houses for those, which were destroyed in the avalanche in 1995 and took the lives of our beloved ones. The people here live mostly by fishing although there are some farmers too.
We hope that our guests will enjoy visiting us and we are sure that everyone can find something to enjoy while staying here.
